LABOR CONTRACT AGREED TO AT CLIFFORD-JACOBS
Clifford-Jacobs Forging Company, an IMT Company, and three (3) union locals confirmed today they have reached a new collective bargaining agreement at its forging operation in
Champaign, Illinois. The Company and Unions issued the following joint statement:
We are pleased to confirm that the parties have reached an agreement as to a new labor contract. The skilled employees of Clifford-Jacobs Forging are some of the best in the industry, and the Company and Unions are pleased to have them back at work. Clifford-Jacobs has been a mainstay in Champaign County for over 90 years. Keeping good jobs in the region is important to all of us – and everyone has worked diligently to obtain this agreement.
Though the forging industry continues to go through some challenging times, our new contract maintains good compensation and benefits for employees while allowing Clifford-Jacobs to remain competitive in the markets it serves. That is important for customers, employees and the company alike.
Last but not least, we would like to thank Commissioner Conrad Bowling of the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service. His assistance was invaluable in bringing the parties to a successful resolution.
Unions covered in the Clifford-Jacobs labor contract include International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #601, International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders,
Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, Local #1626 and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local #1000.
Clifford-Jacobs is a member of the IMT Forge Group, a North American manufacturer of forged, heat treated and machined metal components. Clifford-Jacobs is a leader in the closed die forging of parts for a wide variety of commercial, industrial, military, oil and gas, aerospace and mining applications.
